I grew up in McLean, so I watched Tyson's sprout from a little nothing mall to the giant megopolis that it is today. On a recent trip home with my toddler, we had the misfortune of staying for a WEEK at the Westin in Tysons Corner.
Do not do this to yourselves. I beg you. There are NO decent restaurants in Tysons 2. Magiano's and various other chain restaurants are the standard, booooooooring fare. The Lebanese Taverna is quite tasty, but terribly expensive.
In addition to this, the traffic is terrible around Tysons.
Avoid staying in Tysons Corner if at all possible. Old Town Alexandria or downtown DC are far more interesting places to stay.
Tysons Galleria is also known as Tysons II, the second mall after Tysons Corner across the street. This is the more upscale of the two malls, so if you're looking for a nicer meal (Legal Sea Food) or more upscale shopping, this is the place. They have a very nice food court with a huge variety of food so it is a nice place to meet for lunch as well.
This mall has one hundred shops and restaurants, including Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
