Anytime visitors come to San Francisco for the first time, we make sure to bring them to the Twin Peaks Observation area for the best view on a non-foggy day. However, we make it a short stop for a photo or two. There's not anything special here for kids. It's cold and windy most of the time, and parking could be difficult at times. Still, it's a must see for anyone who has never been there.
We drove up to the Twin Peaks on a steadily curving, uphill road, but it was worth the ride. This is the BEST observation point in all of SF to see the entire city from every angle....much like the Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego. ALL of San Francisco lies below you in a breathtaking screen shot!!! Highly recommended to get that once in a lifetime look at an entire city in one shot!
At the top of a winding road, one of many in San Francisco, is a fantastic place to take photos of the entire city and bay area. We were able to get amazing pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as many other landmarks in the area. It can get busy, but the views are amazing and well worth the drive uphill.
