We went there on 10th April 2011.It was a nice place specially with kids. We have 2.5 yrs old kid and wanted to goto some place where he can also enjoy. This place is in very small hill and has 2 lanes for tubing. When we went there only one lane was working. You can take your kid on your lap while tubing and it is free for kids under age of 4yrs.Since it is a small hill so the kids also enjoy it.
The only drawback is after tubing you have to carry your tube from down to up for next round of tubing.
My kids (and I) love this place. A few dollars gives you hours of fun with an inner tube on a purpose-built tubing run. Inner tubes are provided (you're not allowed to use your own). There are two runs that are dug out, iced over, and curve to the right down the hill. It's probably good fun for kids 2+ and up, though you'd want to tube with your younger ones. After every run, my 3 year-old would yell, "Again! Again! Let's go again!". It's right near the entrance to Heavenly Ski Resort, so it's a great alternative for kids with parents who aren't skiing or snowboarding. Most younger kids seem to find it more fun than skiing.
If you have kids who like speed, you've got to come here. They groom the run so that that it's shaped like a pipe so that you can go flying down the hill and stay safe. We went with our then 6 month old and seem pretty stunned. Our 3 year old was absolutely in heaven. It is a little expensive, but it's one of our best memories of our trip to Lake Tahoe.
