"Underage Art"

The Triton Museum of Art is right across from the Santa Clara City Hall, and has a whole wing of local children's art works.  It also features exibits such as Therese May quilts and abstract paintings of Bay Area Artists.  Nice horse statues in the surrounding gardens.  Small, no crowds, with gift shop, rest rooms and free admission.  Check for family art days.
