This small Zoo is great for the little ones to enjoy the day learning about exotic animals. There is an area where the kids can run around while you chat with your friend or read a book. There's also an area to sit down and eat by a calm lake, while watching the ducks and geese. It's a place to take the kids when there is nothing else to do. It's nice when your'e with a group.
My kids love this place! They love visiting the lemurs there. We have been to the Trevor Zoo many times since we moved to the Hudson Valley. They don't have a snack bar, so we bring a picnic lunch to enjoy while we are there. When my daughter turned 7, we brought her friends there to celebrate her birthday. The staff was very accommodating, and it was a birthday she will never forget.
Small Scale zoo tucked on the property of the Millbrook School. Has more obscure animals (or what my son calls "Diego" animals) such as a red panda, marmosets, coatis, and a wallaby to name a few! Has restrooms, but no food, so you'll have to bring your own snacks.
This small zoo, founded in 1936 and located on the grounds of a picturesque prep school, is home to more than one hundred exotic and indigenous species of animals, from red-tailed hawks to coatimundis. Care of the creatures is part of the school curriculum in the hopes that familiarity will breed appreciation. A 1.25-mile self-guiding nature trail and a boardwalk overlooking a marsh are both stroller accessible.
