This is a collection of art and craft studios/shops. My parents actually got their wedding rings here. It's as kid friendly as any other store would be, but a very nice place to go as an adult, especially if you like different, handmade things like jewelry and ceramics.
The art center overlooks the waterfront. This space, once a factory for torpedo shells for our fighting men in World War II, now booms as the Torpedo Factory Art Center, where professional artists not only work at their craft but display their wares. You can wander through the studios, chat with the artists, and watch them at work. More than 165 artists work or present at the Torpedo Factory.
Kids and adults enjoy browsing the brightly colored pottery, glass vessels, jewelry, and wearable art. Look for the World War II torpedoes on display. Throughout the year there are programs for families and for kids, including a summer art camp.
