"Great fun for kids, beautiful view for all!"

This little park is a gem for kids. Although it doesn't have traditional slides and swings, the nautical themed play structures (pirate ship, whale tail, seals, etc) mix perfectly with the picturesque ocean setting and really spur on imaginative play. My kiddos (4yo, 2yo) thoroughly enjoyed it and my little big girl said it was her favorite part of our recent road trip.

"Beautiful Park"

This is a beautiful park with a great view of the bay. The kids love running in the grass field and pretending to be pirates on the "ship". further, they love walking down on the dock and looking at the jelly fish that always seem to be around. The restrooms are typically clean and the picnic tables make for a great playdate during lunch.

"Nice view of the bay"

Good spot for a picnic by the water, and you can even see an occasional seal or sea lion. The play structure will keep the younger kids busy for a while. If you have your bikes you can ride down to the Embarcadero and do some shopping or have some local seafood. Kids love the nearby Seashell Shop for a souvenir.

"LOVE this park!"

We visited Morro Bay this fall with our toddler.  This park was a safe haven for us.  We visited it twice during our visit.  It is great.  The giant lawn provided a lot of space for him to run and run and run ;)  There were dogs, squirrels, birds, and seals for him to see.  The playground has the awesome pirate ship and seal statues that he enjoyed climbing on.

While the pirate ship is not tailored for toddlers (I would say more 5-10 year olds), he had a blast exploring it with the help of mommy and daddy.  He also got a kick out of watching the big kids pretending to be pirates.  The park is next to the marina so he watched the boats go by also.

We loved it!

"Great Park, Terrific Views!"

This park has a pirate ship, dolphin statues you can climb on, and sand to play in!  It isn't the most traditional park, no swings or slides, but the fun setting more than makes up for it!  There's grass to run on, decent bathrooms, benches and picnic tables, and did I mention that it's right on the bay?  Gorgeous!  :)

"Love Tidelands Park!"

TIdelands Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Morro Bay.  We love this park because it is right on the water and offers great sand play for kids of all ages.  The large pirate ship offers hours of fun and the kids love climbing the large cement structures.  On foggy days it can get rather chilly so be sure to bring a jacket.  After playing at the park, enjoy an afternoon walking the Embarcadero.  Picnic tables line the grassy area perfect for a birthday party.  We had our daughter's 1st birthday at Tidelands and it was a great success!

"Boats and more"

Tidelands park is right on the bay in Morro Bay.  The park play structure looks like a big boat and it is great for hours of imaginative play.  Kids from all ages from pre-walkers to pre-teens seem to have fun at this park.  You can also walk along the bay and see the real boats at the docks and in the bay.  There is a small picnic area as well.

"Beautiful park right on the water"

This is a wonderful playground, featuring nautical themed play structures. The main structure resembles a (pirate?) ship, and it is surrounded by sculptures of sea lions meant to be climbed on and slid down. There is a large grassy hill (which can be reserved for weddings and other events) that is great for running up and rolling down. Rest rooms are available too. Sea life and boats are right there. It is at one end of the Embarcadero, the main tourist area of Morro Bay, which offers great dining and shopping.

There are also ample picnic tables and BBQs. They can't be reserved so it's first come, first served to stake out your spot.

There is also a trolley which runs in the summertime, taking riders to the other end of the Embarcadero and up into the heart of town.

The only downside is there are no swings at this playground. Everything else is perfect.
