Just across the bridge from Swansboro is a long, slender island with tons of fun waiting. This small community is home to the Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area and the North Carolina Aquarium, one of three located along North Carolina’s coast. The area is dedicated primarily to preservation, but you’ll also find a hiking trail and observation towers.
