Although park admission and many of the events at Currituck Heritage Park are free, by touring the historic Whalehead Club visitors support the Whalehead Preservation Trust, a non-profit organization established in 1993 to restore and preserve the Whalehead Club. With physical restoration now complete, the Trust is focused on returning the original 1920-30’s furnishings to the house. The park is open from dawn until dusk daily and we hope you visit often.

Built in the mid-1920s to satisfy Industrialist Edward Collings Knight, Jr.'s passion for hunting waterfowl, the Whalehead Club is a spectacular landmark on the Currituck Outer Banks. Knight and his wife used the Corolla home as their winter residence from 1925 to 1934. It still boasts Tiffany lamps, cork-tiled floors, and brass duck head and water lily hardware.
A Children's Tour and Treasure Hunt is offered for children ages six to twelve ($). This tour teaches participants about the history and art of the home and gives them a greater appreciation for the environment and geography of the area as well as giving them some navigational skills. A ghost tour ($) is recommended for guests age six and older.
