"great value! 2011"

Check the visitors guides for coupons! Free kids admission coupons in the 2011 edition. One coupon per kid and per paying adult. The family could easily spend all day here! No one was bored and we regretted having to leave. I think this one topped my list of favorite museums

"SO much for kids in one place"

A little pricey- but they do have free Fridays a couple times per month. There's so much to do it's a little overwhelming at first. A bubble room, a water room, a fishing pond, giant slides, giant dollhouse, enormous soft building blocks, sand tables, jungle gyms, static ball, play town, I could go on! My favorite: an entire area designed especially for little babies!! Another cool feature: order your lunch when you get there, then pick it up and have a picnic whenever you're ready for it! Healthy and inexpensive food.

"The #1 Place we Like to Visit in St. Louis"

We love going to the Magic House.  It make me a little on the high side of cost but more than worth it.  Also, compared to several other similar places in other cities this is the best one. My 2 and 3 year old have been multiple times and they hate leaving when it is time to go.  The water table would be my 2 year old son's favorite activity.  My 3 year old loves the mini village with a grocery store, library, restaurant, bank, and much more. This is a must see place if you are in St. Louis with kids.

"Great!"

We recently went here when visiting family in st. Louis. It was sort of expensive, but after going through it, it was worth every penny! The kids had tons of fun; the water table was absolutely amazing! It is a very hands on place to learn and explore. Great for kids aged 4-10. Not much older than that though.

"Will go back to visit."

We LOVE The Magic House.  While on a mini vacation to St. Louis a couple of months ago we took our two boys and niece, ages, 2, 4, and 5, for what we thought would be an hour or two at the most.  Four hours and three worn out children later, we were ready to leave.

I found the prices very reasonable and the special exhibit for younger children on the main floor exciting and super entertaining.  However, the highlight was climbing the beanstalk and sliding down the huge slide.  The only complaint is that we chose to go on a rainy day and weren't able to take advantage of the construction zone outside.  Beware that the bubble room is super fun but quite messy!  Wished we lived closer so that we could take advantage of the season pass ;)

"Super fun for the kids!"

One of the best children's museums I have been to.  There are tons of things for the kids to do.  There is lots of variety of activities that are developmental in at least one way or another.  But the kids just love to play!  My daughter loved the little tea party room.

"One of the best children's museums we've been to!"

My daughter and I have been to quite  a few children's museums and the Magic House still ranks among one of our all time favorites.  The permanent exhibits are impressive, and you can easily spend an entire day (if not more!) playing there.  We loved the Oval Office!  Staff were friendly and accommodating.  Healthy food options for lunch also was a plus for us.  My daughter was only 2 when we visited; however I truly think children of all ages would love the Magic House!

"too much fun to just go once"

I am not a fan of spending $8/per person on anything, but there are so many things to see, do, and explore here, it really is a haven for kids and parents alike!  My younger son loves the construction site, and my oldest loves the mystery/be a detective area.  They both enjoy make-believe play in the children's village complete with a pizzeria, library, and grocery store.  Go and see for yourself.  You will not be disappointed.

"Our son loved it!"

We debated between a trip to the St. Louis Science Center and the Magic House with our 15 month old, and though debating the cost to get into the Magic House (as opposed to the Science Center, which is free), we decided the Magic House may be worth the investment as it seemed geared more towards younger kids.  (Many places have coupons where one child can get in free with one paid adults admission.  We used one of these when we took our son.)  We couldn't have been more right! Our son loved all of the different hands on exhibits, which is basically everything!  From huge legos to the ultimate water table, to huge slides going through the building, to musical things, to a tv studio, even my husband and I were interested in all of the exhibits, and our son had a great time playing!  (Not to mention it made for great pictures!)
We plan on making this a yearly trip, though next time we'll be more wise and won't go during cold and flu season.  Being such a little kid 'playground', our son ended up with a cold just a few days after we left (we went at the end of February), and we passed the germs around our family for over a month.
Overall - great attraction!

"Great for everyone"

The Magic House is sooo entertaining and fun for kids and adults! Indoor and outdoor interactive activities engage kids of all ages.  Exhibits include music, science, gardening, construction, water tables, etc.  At $8 dollars per person over the age of one the price is ok but there are "free" nights several times a year.  Parking is free as well.

"Family Favorite"

It is pretty expensive, so we used to only go on Free Family Nights (3rd Friday of the month), but loved it so much that we now have a membership - and it's much better when there are not so many people and you can enjoy the exhibits. We love the sand, water, and fishing areas, as well as the 2 story slide, but really everything is great and we make it a point to try something new every time we go.

"Not the best place for young toddlers"

We took our son here when he was 2. There wasn't a lot for him to do- he was too little for most of the exhibits.  I think it would be a lot of fun with older children- maybe age 3 or 4 and older. There seemed to be a lot for them to do and learn.  The older children there all seemed to be having a great time!

"So much fun"

I grew up going to this great place, and I knew that when we went back to visit family is STL I had to take my son.  There is so much fun and learning here and it keeps getting better and better.  Make sure you plan to spend a whole day here because there is so much fun in every room.  Don't miss out on making your hair stand up with static electricity or on the 3 story slide!  Those are the classics at the Magic House!

"FUn, Fun, Fun"

This is one of our favorite places in St. Louis.  You can easily spend 4-5 hours here.  They just added a whole new building, which is geared more towards school-aged kids.  The older section I think is more for toddlers and pre-school, but my son (5) loved the new section too. They also added a new cafe, so you can even eat lunch there now.  This is more like a children's museum or discovery museum with lots of hands-on things for the kids to do.

"Children's Museum"

We visited The Magic House over the summer.  At the time our son was just 2.  Although we all had a great time, it seemed as though many of the exhibits were geared towards older children in the over 5 range.  There were some dress up clothes, outdoor water play and sand play, and many make believe stations.  There was also a room with activities centered around electricity, and other science related topics.  The whole museum is in a really neat old house.  As an older child it would have been fun to explore throughout the house.  With all the people there it was a bit difficult at times to not lose my little guy though!  There is a place to buy lunch at the museum as well.

"It is in fact magic!"

We LOVE the Magic House.  It is great for children (and adults) of all ages.  There is a nice size area for babies and toddlers and a HUGE area for younger children to play which is great.  There are many areas that encourage role playing like a court room, store, the Oval Office, etc.  This is definitely and hands on museum and they definitely sneak learning in amongst the fun.  There is an area that has a water table and there are waterproof aprons for the children to wear, but it might be a good idea to pack an extra pair of clothes just in case.

"The Magic House"

A unique museum experience. Our two year old was a bit overwhelmed at all there was to do. I think it's a bit pricey. If you visit the website they have Free Family Nights on certain Fridays (during the fall I believe) but it is SO CROWDED on those nights you might be better off to just pay admission and avoid the crowds. The electrostatic ball that makes your hair stand up is a great photo opp. don't miss that!

"Good Choice for Families"

There are sooo sooo many choices in St. Louis.  This would be a place I would visit while in town only after visiting the free attractions in Forest Park (the Magic House is similar enough to the Saint Louis Science Center to choose the larger, free SLSC site 1st).  With that being said, in comparison with other cities around the country, the Magic House provides a great value for the price, and I would still highly recommend it.

There are areas designated for even the youngest children (babies).  This is great way to spend a rainy day, meet other mothers, and enjoy hands-on fun and learning.

If you live in STL, I recommend purchasing a membership!

"Wow!"

We visited The Magic House on a spring break vacation with another family, between the two families we had six kids (ages 0-12).  We spent the entire day there and could have spent a second!  Every kid (and adult) found things they loved in every room.  The grocery store, play pizza restaurant and electricity room stick out in my memory.

The price (especially with easily found coupons) was WELL worth it!

"GREAT!"

There's a place in Ohio called COSI and this reminded me of it, but MUCH cooler. We spent HOURS here. Very affordable for all there is to do. it was crowded with a bunch of preschoolers enjoying their imaginations! I recommend it to EVERYONE! I am from Ohio and I am considering going to it again!
