A family orientated place packed to the brim with fun, excitement and learning. Enjoy and explore this unique, dynamic site where your only limitation is your own imagination!
Best for children ages ten and under (if you have a lot of older ones too, maybe have them stay at home as it wouldn't be very cost-effective). There are plenty of fun, clean, and educational activities (incl dress-up, toddler romp room, live bees, play kitchen, music room, painting, gears room, blacklight night sky room, and more). Plan to visit for 1-2 hours - or in the summer, up to four hours (nice playground, decent mini-golf, and up and coming garden on the grounds, which you could visit for free without admission to the museum). Double strollers fit on the elevator to the upstairs level. (also, right next door is a humane society which we've visited with kids, to see the animals--they were kid-friendly as well)
TIPS:
*Head to the painting room first so that your masterpieces are dry for the ride home.
*During spring summer and fall remember to purchase tickets to the train which can be loud but hasn't scared any little ones that I know of yet.
We really liked this children's museum. Because it's in an old farm house, the exhibit rooms are smaller, giving it a homey feel. Outside, there's a carousel and small train that you can ride for a small fee, and a nice playground area. The exhibits are varied and well-done. We really liked this children's museum.
