"Not the best place for young kids"

The Charleston Museum is a great history museum of SC and the Lowcountry. It's not the best place for young kids. They do offer great exhibits with artifacts from the time of slavery and more. There is a small area where children can dress up in colonial clothes. This definitely seemed more for girls than boys. They also have a neat area with wildlife (dead, of course), but the kids enjoyed being up close, even if not living. This is America's first museum, so if your family enjoys history, they will appreciate this place.
