"Just restaurants "

There is nothing kid friendly about this place.  It is now full of overpriced restaurants and shops.  I would stear clear of the Cannery and opt for Gherdelli square and the wharf.  Pier 39 is just a few steps away.  There is a bunch of candy shops near the cannery though, if you need some sweets.

"Fun with the Family"

The largest peach cannery in the world at the turn of the twentieth century, this three-story brick complex now holds dozens of smart shops and restaurants, with an olive-tree-shaded patio for dining and free entertainment. The cable car turnaround is 1⁄2 block away.
