There is free 2 hour parking on Bridge Street (the main street through the village). Free longer-term parking is conveniently located in many areas throughout the town.
The bridge is interesting, if you take the time to read the history. The kids didn't. They did enjoy the walk and being able to see all the different kinds of flowers. Afterwards it's a short walk to see the Glacial Potholes. Again, interesting if you know the history, otherwise it's just a bunch of rocks and water falls.
The kids enjoyed the walk, but not really the waterfalls/potholes or the bridge.
In the riverside village of Shelburne Falls, a quick detour off Route 2, see the Bridge of Flowers. It’s a 400-foot retired trolley bridge that has been planted with flower beds. The best time for viewing the bridge is in July and August. Don’t miss the nearby Salmon Falls, with the country’s most numerous glacial potholes, which were formed by retreating ice from the glaciation period.
This is a beautiful place to visit in late spring and throughout the summer and into early fall. The flowers are just lovely and smell wonderful! Quite the scenic place!
