"Tours and Veggies"

Our preschool has been taking tours at Terry's Berries for the 5 years that I have been a part with my two children. Every tour has been friendly, generous, informational, and we've seen a new part of the farm. This summer we plan to buy a share of their organic produce, as getting the fresh food is great each week, and it's a great trip to take our children. Our son is a pickier eater; we're hoping the more we show him where his food comes from and how amazing the growth is, the more he will want to try new foods. This fall they had kittens and ducklings to see, goats and chickens to feed, and tons of awesome produce. There is always something going on there. Definitely worth a trip. Shareholders can pick up food on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I believe.

"Kid Friendly Organic Farm"

Great little organic farm to take the kids to visit. Ask for some day old bread and the kids can go feed the chickens. During the fall on the weekends go apple picking and then make your own apple cider. I have been part of the food share program there as well. You get a ton of vegetables for the price and then as being a member you get a discount on the produce stand. I like knowing exactly where my food comes from and that is was picked just the day before! Try the fresh eggs.....

"A Well-Rounded Farm Experience"

This is one of my favourite farms simply for the variety of crops which get cultivated there. Raspberries, apples, bees, sunflowers, lettuce, pumpkins, herbs etc...... Education is very much a part of the mission of this farm and the crops are clearly labelled with that in mind and there are even simple explanations all around the farm.

There is enough going on to keep your little ones interested and everyone can look out for their favourite fruit or vegetable. Go during the Fall weekends and you can pick your own apples and have them pressed on the spot into cider, a process that will keep your little engineers entertained.

Be warned that the yummylicious farm stand will tempt you to part with your $$.
