"Great place to take kids on rainy days for education and play"

I love taking my daughter here she learned so much and has fun playing in the toddler room. The cloud is awesome! They have a big water area made for boats and duckies. They also have an art area, where kids and parents can get creative. I love love love love love love love love love love love love love this place.

"Best in Reno!"

The Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum is northern Nevada's newest and most exciting hands-on place for kids to experience art, science, nature, and history.

The museum is nothing short of AWESOME. The folks who put this together really went all out. The museum is very big and very exciting. Every corner is packed with fun activities. In fact, it's impossible not to have fun here.

MY TODDLER'S FAVORITES

My little monkey loved climbing into the clouds at the museum’s main attraction, Cloud Climber. Cloud Climber is a jungle gym which stretches floor to ceiling and challenges kids to be brave, have fun, and learn about the environment’s water cycle.

TIP: My son, who stands 42 inches tall, was able to climb up unassisted. However, his legs were too short to climb down without help from mom.

My child favored Little Discoveries, a special place for children under 5. My son delighted in putting rocks made of foam into the museum’s mining elevator and ore car.

TIP: I snapped a ton of great pictures in this room; have your camera ready!

MY 3rd GRADERS LOVED

Under the Stars is where glow in the dark meets camping. What a great idea! This exhibit offers Nevada's tradition of outdoor adventure via black light treatment, there’s even a cave with geological formations to explore.

In this gallery, my kids all piled into a tent filled with camping gear. After a few minutes I noticed my son struggling to remove a head lamp which he had placed on his head. His expression as he struggled with it was hilarious. I know I should have helped him out, but I was too busy snapping pictures of the funny faces he was making as he was wrestling to get it off his head. The kids were laughing so hard that a nearby infant crawled into the tent to see what all the ruckus was about. The baby ended up becoming the tent mascot!

MOM’S WILL LOVE
• Free and ample parking
• A wide array of activities
• $3 classes and programs
• Healthy vending machine options
• Indoor picnic area for packed lunches

This review is based on a complimentary visit to the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. I received no other compensation and was not asked to express a particular point of view. My opinions are entirely my own.
