Great hill and amazing instructors, who know how to teach skills while keeping safety and fun in mind. They teach kids as young as 3 on the magic carpet hill, and ease them up in skills to the little lift all the way up to the top of the mountain. Easy parking, quick shuttle service and never a big crowd! The hot cocoa after a day of skiing is excellent too!
This is not fancy like Squaw Valley's ski school, but my kids prefer this place. We had to get them fitted into boots and skis and then drop them off with their instructors, which was a bit nutty, but thankfully, we started on a not-very-busy day and kept our gear for the next very-very-busy-President's-Day-weekend-madness.
There are just two lifts: Snowbird and Eagle Rock, and they are adjacent to each other. The learning center for older kids and private lessons is located right between the two lifts. The snowflakes area, for kids 3-6, is also really, really, close by the lifts. You can literally ride the snowbird lift, and look for your child at the snowflake area.
We sure did. And it was cool to see her ride the little escalator to come down a bunny hill. Even though she was signed up for a group lesson, she was really getting 1:1 attention.
Our 6 year old, loved it too. He got on the eagle rock lift, and could not get enough of it.
We also liked the fact that we did not have to break the bank to put them in ski school.
Also, there is microwave at the bar/grill upstairs so that you can bring your own food and not have to consume those typically junky food served at ski lodges.
Overall, good bang for your buck and lots of fun.
