As mentioned by other reviewers, this is not a real zoo. Instead of real animals, the exhibits are animals and cars and people made of recycled metal.
It is very interesting to stroll through, and the kids loved finding new creatures tucked into the corners of the lot.
It is free, with donations accepted, and because of this, it is a fun place to visit. I probably would not go if I had to pay an entrance fee, as it seems to be mostly novelty.
Also, the bathrooms are less than desirable for families.
Okay - so first off - not a real zoo LOL just so everyone knows. This is a zoo of creatures, vehicles, etc. that are made from scrap metal. The land it is on is private land, and to my knowledge, the owners still live on it. Awesome to look at - kids LOVE it - but it's important to respect that they are not for touching (or climbing...), as it would be downright dangerous to be on things made out of (what is sometimes rusting) sharp metal pieces... Part of the "zoo" is near the river - so if you're there in the spring/summer (and really, even early fall) you might want to bring bug spray. It is free, but donations are appreciated. It is located right off I-25 at the Harmony Exit (Fort Collins) - but you'll head East on Harmony - it's on your right hand side and it's hard to miss.
