From their site "Sundance Resort sits in a wonderful protected setting, against magnificent 12,000 ft. Mount Timpanogos. Few places in the world have the majesty, beauty and convenience of Sundance. We offer beginner to expert skiing with terrain suitable for any skill level with 41 runs spread over 500 acres of snow-smothered terrain."
Located just up Provo Canyon, this ski resort is usually teaming with college students during the day. It is not my favorite ski resort - the runs are limited and, since the resort it lower in elevation, often icy. This resort does tend to be cheaper than other resorts, so it may be just the perfect place for teaching your children to ski or snowboard.
Every one in my family has all learned to ski here at the Sundance Ski Resort in Provo, about 15 minutes up the Provo Canyon. A very convient location fro those in orem, provo, and heber. It is a very kid friendly and great place. They have a lot of easy hills but they also have harder ones for the more skilled skiier.
I haven't been here in the Winter, but one Sunday last summer our family drove up here (it's about 17 minutes from Provo) and we explored around the "ski" area It was so fun for our kids! We found a few trails, some short and another one much longer that we hiked for about an hour before coming back. The hikes were not steep and fun through the forest greenery. A great family pastime and free, too!
OUr children all learn to ski here at the Sundance Ski Resort in Provo, about 15 minutes up the Provo Canyon. A very close place to get away and ski! Very kid-friendly and a fun place. Easy hills, plus harder ones for the more skilled skiier. Prices are a little more than should be, perhaps......but sometimes for proximity it's worth it for us.
