We live in Deltona, and this is my favorite place to take my 4 yr old. I think it is better than any splash park around. The fact that it overlooks the ocean is definitely an added bonus. It is obvious that the city of Daytona put some money into this one, with colorful spray showers for the kids to run through, and a playgound to boot. There are a few shaded places for the grownups to sit,but not many. It gets quite hot if you are the parent and not going in the spray areas too. There were nice public bathrooms, that were actually clean. i loved the fact that when we were finished, we could simply walk down the stairs, and go right into the ocean.
This beach is amazing. The sand is the softest I have ever seen and so white. It literally felt like you were walking on powdered sugar. We spent the day on the beach and rented boogie boards for about $6 each and had such a blast. It is so cool to see all the cars driving along the beach. When we were finished on the beach, we stopped by the Sun Splash Park which was nice to rinse off and play in the cool water. This was one of our favorite things on our Florida vacation.
This place is AWESOME for parents and kids! There is a splash pad on the beach!! What could be better-play on the beach and the run up to the splash pad to get cooled off! This is the best place in Daytona Beach for kids! Go early before the crowd gets there!
We were only here briefly on our way to Orlando, but it was fun. It's really easy to get to and plenty of parking. They have some awnings covering the playground equipment but it still was quite hot in the summer sun. Our daughter wasn't really in the mood for the splash park this day but she loved running up and down the walkway and playing in the playground. With the free access to the beach, parking, restrooms, and playground it's worth another visit!
