A tranquil lake set in the middle of Golden Gate Park. You can rent boats and bikes from Stow Lake Boat & Bike Rentals or just stroll along the path around the lake.
Only cash accepted.
i love stow lake the food the boat rides but the best thin for me is just to walk around on the pavement that way you can see every thing there is and you can go over the bridges to see the Japanese tepee and the waterfall and walk up the stairs to strawberry hill but unfortunately there are no strawberry on the hill. but all the ways you do it boating or just simply walking the whole place is great for the whole family
thank you for reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is so much fun to rent a row boat (or Paddle Boat) with the kids at Stow Lake. It takes us about an hour to paddle slowly around the the island. Along the way, we look for tiny turtles which can be found around the lake, and we feed ducks. Unfortunately, the water is very dirty. After returning the boat, we always grab an ice cream at the lakeside snack stand (same place where you rent the boats). Good time!
I was just here this weekend enjoying the lovely SF weather while I have it :o) Stow Lake is a great place to go when funds are low and I can entertain my daughter with the ducks, geese, and turtle in the water and watch the paddle boats go by. We like to walk our dog here as well. It's a great place to just relax. You can always rent a paddle boat or a bike and make your way around Golden Gate park. I like to bring my daughter in her wagon and take her for a ride around the lake. Great scenery, nature, and a great place to take photos.
My toddler loves to be outside near water. There are lots of bridges and decks to explore so pack a picnic. A great place to burn energy and watch the pedal boats.
Stow Lake has a trail that leads to a waterfall and pagoda. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the rock bridge overlooking the canoes and ducks, to walk the trail to the waterfall. Hold on to the little ones if you climb to the top of the fall for a look down. Have lunch at the Chinese Pagoda and peek through the little holes to see the fish. Kids can find turtles and ducks right along side the lake.
