Steamboat Ski Resort

In Colorado's northwest corner, 210 miles from Denver and an hour's drive north of Summit County. The mountains at Steamboat are rounded peaks, snows come in big and light. The resort calls it "Champagne Powder," purists say that Steamboat is almost too flat to ski during its heaviest storms, and it is true that there's plenty of family-friendly terrain to the skier's left side of the resort and on the lower mountain. But runs like Chutes 1, 2, and 3 will challenge even the best skiers and riders. In fact, the town of Steamboat Springs has produced more Winter Olympians than any other in the U.S
