II have driven by the ECO Station many times and often wondered what it was or is? This past Sunday I finally looked them up online. My son and grandson and I were very impressed. On entering the door to the facility you will see to the left of holding tank or lack of better words with all sorts of plant life for several types of turtles. Logan loved these guys he watched them for over an hour as they dove into the water and eat. (He is almost three). Then viewed a moderate variety of spiders on plastic aquariums along the other wall to the right of where you came through the door.
Every hour on the hour until one hour before closing time they offer a tour of the reptile, fish aquarium and parrot sanctuary. Our guide explained to us why all the creatures were there and a little about each of the species. We learned a little about ecology and recycling.
Each weekend they offer some form of activity as well as the tour. You can have a Birthday Party there as well.
It is really worth the cost of $6.00 for adult’s children under 2 are free.
I should also mention that you pay at the end of the tour, as your guide will take you right into the gift shop. I don’t think I liked that tactic of marketing but it works and people buy. They money is put to good use as it used to take care of the many animals.
