St. Petersburg's oldest living museum, located just north of downtown St. Pete, is popular with locals and wedding parties. The lush tropical foliage makes for ideal photos but would not be too appealing to most small kids. It is very quiet and lovely. If your family loves to stroll in gardens, then this would be an ideal place to visit. The tropical flowers are beautiful and the volunteers are quite helpful.
Down a sinkhole in the middle of the city, you’ll find cool, quiet respite amid thriving plant life at Sunken Gardens, a tourist attraction since 1935. See butterflies, birds, and bird and reptile shows three times daily. Garden tours available.
