Sprout Creek Farm

"A great day at the farm!"

Sprout Creek Farm is a 200 acre working farm in Dutchess County that offers many educational opportunities for the young people in the area as well as a sleep-away camp during the summer.

We visit Sprout Creek Farm at least once or twice each spring/summer.  The kids know some of the animals by name.  Three of my kids went on field trips there in the past and I have one daughter who did workshops there in the spring.  There are cows, goats, sheep,pigs, and chickens.  The staff are very accommodating.  Once, they allowed us to go in the goat pen to play with the baby goats and they gave us an impromptu tour of the facility.

The market at the farm features yummy handmade cheeses and ice cream,  You can try all the different varieties of cheese before you buy.  Our favorite is the Ouray.  The kids love the delicious ice cream.
