We arrived at the park when it first opened and happened to make our way over to Splash Mountain first. We had a family group of 22 people so I didn't have much say in this one, but nobody twisted my arm to go on it first thing in the morning! There was no line (big surprise!) so of course we figure, let's get on! Starts out adorable with the characters and story line, but "the drop" soaked me!! Was not expecting to get so wet, although I knew it was a water ride! Sooo much fun, but took a while to dry!! It was well worth it though!
Splash Mountain is a log flume ride that also tells a story as you start the adventure! It is a super exciting ride with a 50 foot drop at the end! Smile because Disney will take your picture just as you are about to drop! Be prepared to wait in line or use the FASTPASS system as this is one of Disney's most popular rides....especially in the HOT, HOT days of the ORLANDO summer!
I love Splash Mountain. No trip to Disneyland is complete without it right? Especially on a hot day, this is GOAT (greatest of all time). I make sure to bring a backpack, and some flip flops with me on the ride. I change into the flip flops, put my shoes AND socks in the bag and roll my pant leg up. YOU WILL GET WET, VERY WET. I came off soaking once, but the good thing is, you dry off really quickly when its warm out (even when its not).
Splash Mountain brings back some of the best memories I've had with my kids at DisneyWorld. I love going on this ride with the kids during the heat because it's so refreshing to get wet and cool down. The ride has a really cute story that my kids love and the drops are great, especially the huge one. I wouldn't pass this one up if I were you.
Splash Mountain is a wet thrill ride with a 50 foot drop. Hop aboard a log flume and take a trip to your laughing place! This ride is based upon Disney classic Song of the South. Fastpass is available and is highly recommended.
We love to ride Splash Mountain in the summer time when its nice and hot because you do get wet! I would not recommend riding in the winter unless you want to be cold and damp for the rest of the day.
Another secret I have, is that when I board...I always slide my hiney to the front of the seat. Water tends to pool at the back of the seat and this keeps me from having a wet spot on my rear end for the rest of the day.
