Take a ride in a log shaped boat as you pass cute critters singing songs from Song of the South. Just when everything seems so happy and carefree, riders take the 5 story plunge into the briar patch and get soaked in the process.
Minimum height: 40"
FastPass available.
This is one of the best rides at Disneyland and is by far the best log ride I have ever been on. Even on busy days when the wait is longer than an hour, you can really enjoy the scenery of the ride, search for hidden mickeys, watch Pooh and his friends greet kids, and read the story of Brer' Rabbit.
Once on the ride, I love the little hills, splashes and singing characters that make this ride like floating through my own happy place. I heard that the front seats get the wettest and we did find this to be true, but the majority of the splashing comes from the first sets of drops, not the big drop at the end.
The big drop at the end is incredibly thrilling. I remember my first time on it feeling as if I was falling through the air and then landing in a splash. Each time it is super fun. I recommend getting a FastPass on crowded days and then enjoy the Pooh Bear ride, Davy Crocketts canoes, Tom Saywers Island and eating In the quiet open spaces of the Hungry Bear Restaurant.
This log ride is the best I have ever been on. Instead of just taking you up a hill and back down, Disney of course themes the ride beautifully and you are immersed in the story of Brer Rabbit. Even the line walks you through the beginning of the story (you miss this in the fastpass line) so that you can read about the story while waiting for the ride.
The back is my favorite spot for kids as they get to sit next to you and huddle close. The drop is pretty intense, but older kids will love it. You will get pretty wet, so be prepared.
*Fastpass is available during peak times.
