Spencer is gradually acquring its own reputation as not only the safest beach on the entire coast, but the best swimming beach as well. The park is popular not only with local families with small children, but with snorkeling enthusiasts and local fishermen as well.

There are bathrooms and showers, picnic tables, barbecues, a large lawn area, basketball and volleyball courts, a large pavilion and campgrounds. Drinking water is available, and you are allowed to fish.

"Bring the whole family!"

Spencer Beach County Park is a great place to snorkel, swim, and picnic. There are restrooms, showers, picnic tables, tennis courts, and even electricity for campers. An offshore reef around Kawaihae Bay protects the waters and helps keep them calm, providing great swimming conditions for kids. The reef also is home to many colorful species of fish, making for great snorkeling. Trails lead from this beach park up to the Pu`ukohola Heiau.
