We have done the Santa Train here twice.  Both of my kids really enjoyed it.  Go ahead and skip the first class ticket.  We did it once but the snack is just a can coke and a small bag of chips.  Santa spends the same amount of time with all of the kids and the ride is just as nice in the regular seats.  Check their website for dates and times because they are not open everyday.
