I love nature centers. They are usually a little quirky and offbeat with lots of funky nature displays. This one didn't disappoint. It was bigger than most with lots of interactive displays (like a giant drain the kids can rinse themselves down on the way to the ocean).  

It was sectioned off into water cycle, wildlife, fossils and geology, plus a library and mini-gift shop.   We spent about 45 minutes perusing the whole place (but my kids are 6 and 9).  Then we talked to the ranger and hit the trails in the park.

(Some of the displays were out of service, but the interpretive signs still supplied a lesson).
