It's not often that there's an opportunity for young kids to hop on a snowmobile and show off their driving abilities. This is the safest (still fun) way for the 4-12 set to have that experience.
Set on a supervised groomed track, riders are provided with helmets and operational instruction before being turned loose. When I informed the guy in charge that my son has autism but, he is high functioning and may require a little extra instruction and patience, the guy didn't even at an eye. "Let's make sure he has a great experience!" he said to me.
A great experience is just what he had! The employee in charge was great with him. He was patient and fun. Before I knew what I happened my little man was driving that snowmobile as if he'd done it a million times! It was an awesome sight!
