Parking in the area around the museum can be a challenge. There is no parking area specifically for the museum. On weekends and evenings guests to the museum may park in any white-lined space in college parking lots, including the college’s parking garage. On weekdays before 5 p.m. parking may be found on the city streets near the museum or in the city parking garage located behind Thorne’s Market (there is a fee for that garage).

"Fun with the Family"

Art lovers will enjoy a visit to the Smith College Museum of Art, renovated in 2003, whose fine collection of more than 25,000 works of art are displayed in an outstanding building. The Botanic Gardens have systematic beds where plants are classified according to families, and the rock and knot gardens are quite beautiful. The greenhouses have annual flower spectaculars in March (spring bulbs) and November (chrysanthemums). The Smith College campus, covering more than 150 acres, is a National Arboretum.
