We love visiting the slate run historical farm when the weather is nice! It's part of the metro parks here in columbus Ohio and so it's free to the public. This is a historical and educational park that allows the public to see various ways that a farm was run in the 1880's. There's not a lot of animals but a good amount in for a small farm. Roosters, pigs, turkeys, ducks, cows, sheep, and horses. We love to just walk around the open space and see the different animals. It's a nice, close place to go to get out of the country and allow my little boy to enjoy country living!
This is located south east of Columbus. It's part of the metro park system. It is a living farm, so there are lots of exhibits set up with different people working, such as a lady spinning or a blacksmith. They have MANY gardens and it's a great place for little kids to walk around safely.
