The 16th Street Mall is Denver’s hub of shopping, dining and entertainment that stretches for 16 blocks in the heart of downtown.
The 16th Street Mall in Downtown Denver is a fun place for both kids and adults. We love browsing in the stores and then choosing one of the many restaurants for a nice dinner. My kids favorite part of the 16th street mall is riding the free RTD shuttle bus that frequently runs from Union Station to Colfax Avenue.
I only rated this three stars because if you are looking for an actual mall, this is NOT the place to go for great shopping. This is a fun place to go for dinner, sometimes they are art fairs, or just to see downtown Denver. There are wonderful things we like to go downtown for including the Parade of Lights. This is a wonderful tradition for our family.
We took our 6-month-old along on the trolley here and shopped one afternoon. She slept in her stroller and we were free to shop and look around. Felt very safe and had little trouble with carting the stroller around. No problems-- fun! We were able to even walk to a local, historical monument park adjacent to the area.
Explore downtown Denver with your kids by foot on this 16 block-long pedestrian mall. You'll find shops, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and public art right on the Mall.
And if you venture a block or two off the Mall, you'll see the State Capitol, the City and County Building, the Denver Center for Performing Arts, Coors Field (Colorado Rockies), and LoDo (Lower Downtown).
The free mall shuttle is also available and stops at every block frequently. It is stroller-friendly.
Great way to pass a sunny afternoon, which are plentiful in Denver.
