This is a good place to take a walk and relax. We saw many different birds, and baby alligators! It was a smooth boardwalk for our stroller, too. If you need a place to go, but don't want to spend, this is the place to go for a walk.
The only charge is a reasonable, $1 per hour or $5 all day, for parking. The machine takes credit cards, too.
This is a great place to visit when you feel like being in nature. The walking trail is a beautiful boardwalk that takes you pass ponds, trees, and pretty vistas. The kids enjoyed it. It's a great place for a homeschooling field trip too, as you can teach the kids about nature and the different species of trees and animals that are native to SW Florida. It's super relaxing and well worth the trip. Not to mention, It's free. So enjoy!
There is always a lot to see during this easy boardwalk stroll! Whenever family came to visit, this was always on our "to do" list. The boardwalk is stroller and wheel chair accessible. If you come during the winter, you will always be greeted by helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly volunteers. For the summer months (off-season) there is a simple to follow self- guided tour available. Lots of birds, alligators, otters......
Boardwalks meander through 9 miles of wetlands ecology.
