"Typical amusement park"

Amusement parks are one of those things that you can only put off for so long if you have children.  Six Flags is a pretty good place to start.  The park is not that big, so you don't have to walk very far between attractions, which is a plus if you have small children.  There is a pretty large little kids section to keep the wee ones entertained while the older kids and adults ride the big roller coasters.  For most of the "big" rides kids have to be 48" tall.  There are a few thrill rides that will allow shorter children as long as they are accompanied by an adult. If you are visiting in the summer, there is also a separate water park that you can visit.  Admission is included in the entrance fee, so you don't have to pay anything extra.  There is a Scooby Doo ride and Scooby and Shaggy are walking around.  You can also spot a lot of the Looney Tunes characters.  The downsides are the typical for this type of place- expensive admission, long lines and inflated food prices.  The park will let you leave and come back in, so it is possible to eat off premises or have a picnic in the parking lot.

"Another Six Flags"

This six flags is ok, there is nothing bad about it but there is nothing that really stands out either. In the summer the lines are very long. The last time I went I wasn't a fan of the the some people were dressed either not very appropriate. The food is also prices just as high as many assumenent partks.

"Best Place on Earth!"

This is the best Amusement Park ever!  After going for years, I still rate this place the best ever - even compared to Disney!  Just the perfect size, not too big and not too small.  Roller coasters, water rides, shows and tons of food to eat.  Affordable too :)

"Better for Adults or Older Kids"

Let's face it, when you pay between $25 and $40 to get in some place, you want everyone to enjoy everything they can, and if you are planning on spending a full day, as a group of individuals who meet all of the height requirements to all of the rides (and those individuals enjoy riding rides), then Six Flags, St. Louis may be a good day trip for you.  Personally, we enjoy going as a couple or with our adult friends more than we enjoy taking our kids.
Drinks are expensive, food is expensive, and the wait time in lines can be long, but they do have a few rides worth waiting for (we like the superman and the batman, as well as Mr. Freeze, though it seems to be closed as much as or more than it is open.)  The water park is mediocre, and on the days where most people want to be in the water park, can be very crowded.
The park used to offer several live shows during the day that they have now replaced with movie shorts or have canceled all together.
The park is much cleaner than others I have been too, but still isn't much to brag about.
The 'little kid' rides are few and far between and many have height restrictions keeping parents from riding along with little ones.  Again, if you are going to go, go with adults.
As for us, we are right smack in between Six Flags, St. Louis and Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN, and we'd choose Holiday World every time over Six Flags.

"Fun place to spend a day"

This is a great place for pre-teens and teens, but hard if you're  a family of mixed ages.  There are plenty of rides for smaller kids, and lots for older kids and adults to do, just not together.  You kind of have to pick an age group.  If your kids are older, then it would be a great trip!  The water park is a lot of fun- especially if you go near the beginning or end of the season, when it's not as hot outside- the lines are much shorter.

"Love it!"

I have been taking the family to Six Flags St. Louis for years.  I myself am not big into roller coasters like my kids but the water park is awesome!  There is a great section for the younger kids too.  A little on the expensive side for just a single ticket so I opt to do the season pass.  Lots of different foods and snacks to choose from however I am always prepared to spend a lot  to feed a family there.  Lots of rides and activies so plan to spend an entire day.

"Very Fun!"

Me and my family went to Six Flags St. Louis a few years ago when my daughter was 3 and had a blast. It really is alot of fun and the water park is awesome! I loved the batman ride! The Scooby Doo house was pretty scary to my little girl! but fun for me! There was really only one particular thing I didn't like and that was that some of the workers at a few of the food shops were not that nice. They were talking to each other using profanity and when we asked for a hot dog all we got was " We ain't got none" in a very rude way. So it is fun but I think they could choose their workers more wisely!

"Six Flags"

Our daughter was about 1 when we first took her to Six Flags. There is a section of the park geared toward kids and I was suprised that even at such a young age there were a few rides (she went on two) that she could enjoy. Outside the kid area she rode an additional two. (a slow boat tour through a tunnel and the old fashioned cars) the train would have been another option for her. It worked out best that we took her for a bit, sent her home with the grandparents and then enjoyed the rest of the park ourselves!

"always really crowded"

Six Flags St Louis is a lot of fun, but it always leaves the kids super drained and crabby at the end of the day. The lines are often way to long and it makes the day seem to drag out, but once you make it through to the ride it is always a blast! Not as fun with littles as it is kids who can ride all the rides with you!

"Great amusement park for all ages"

Six Flags offers a variety of rides that will please most any one. You can ride the rollercoasters or the water rides to get a thrill. Younger kids can play in the kids park. My niece and nephew couldn't get enough of the swings! You can pack a lunch or eat in one of the many food areas. If you have a stroller, packing food/snacks is easy, otherwise it gets tough to lug around your lunch all morning. The prices are more expensive, but we assume that as part of the cost of the day. It's just so much easier.

As I was pulling some of the info on the park for the general information, I saw that they have some great online specials for admission tickets. So, check there first if you're planning a trip.
