This summer I decided to purchase a season pass. What a deal!! Because my daughter is still 2 she is free so I only had to pay for one pass plus a $50 unlimited parking pass. We live in Valencia so we were able to go when ever she wanted to. It was a great alternative to the park.
Now to the review of the park. This is a review of the under 36" rides only. The area for the younger children is a nice size area that is much shadier than the rest of the park. There are 2 trains, tea cups, bird cage, small carousel, airplane, and a mini roller coaster (her favorite) and a few more small rides. There is also a big indoor ball room that the kids can play with & shoot balls around. Lots of climbing and interaction with other kids. The area also have a big bathroom and a food section. My daughter had a blast every time.
Because the season pass is such a great deal, it was nice that I didn't feel like I had to stay all day to get my money's worth. We could spend a couple hours many times and get more than our money's worth.
The "toddler" section by the way is NEVER crowded. We never had to wait in line, even on busy days it was a breeze.
I am only reviewing this section of the park because of the age and height of my child, I was unable to experience the rest of the park. That being said, I am sure that it is a great park and a great day of fun. The park is clean, family friendly, easy to get to, and easy parking. The staff I encountered where all very friendly and helpful. If you have small children to teenagers and live close by...a season pass is so worth it. Food as to be expected was pricey, but if you eat before you come and bring a granola bar, you might only have to buy a drink and a snack.
We had fun this summer and will be buying a pass next year too.
This place is great if you just want to go on some great roller coasters. But to be honest the people that go there are not always "kid friendly". There are a lot of rowdy teenagers, and that I don't really like. Also if you are taking small kids their kid section is not too big. They couldn't be entertained there all day. It is a fun place, but unless you don't spend full price (you can usually bring a specially marked coke can and it can be buy one get one free admission!!) it might not be worth the money if you have little ones. The big kids will love it though! OH! And don't forget to buy a funnel cake! They are the BEST!!!
My sister and I both love roller coasters and this is a great Six Flags! We didn't even get to ride all of them though because it was extremely hot the day we went and the lines were just ridiculous. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed all the roller coasters we managed to ride and I definitely want to go back again in the future.
Six Flags has a wide array of crazy scary roller coasters. They are the first ones I heard of to come out with things like the up-side-down loop, the corkscrew, and the one called X where your strapped down to this platform that can spin any direction while it travels around the windy track. The food is not good at all and is very expensive, so just skip it and bring your own.
This place is full of great rides and attractions. I highly recommend the "Ninja" and "Superman" as rides you must try! Unlike Six Flags Marine World this place is all about great rides and coasters. It is the place to be if you are 13 or older. Not so much fun for those in strollers.
This park is AWESOME. They have the new X2 roller coaster. I can not tell you how much fun that is. That is..until I had my daughter almost year ago.
This park has great roller coasters and rides for adults, teens and young children, there is not much to do with a baby or a toddler except the carousel and a few more rides. Definitely not worth the money if a toddler is all you have.
Bring the grandparents along so you can go on the rides and they can entertain said child. Food is expensive of course but Johnny Rockets I think has a family sized bucked of food that will be the best thing since pop-tarts.
Bring your coke cans for a discounted price, buy online and find a coupon code for a small discount or just buy a season pass during the first few months of the year for the best price.
If you have older children that enjoy roller coasters then it's worth the money. If you have younger kids then it's pricey. There is a kids area that has smaller rides but that's it. There is a variety of food and alot of rides. Be prepared to walk up and down hills.
Really fun rides for older kids and adults, but the younger children's area is really weak. We live really close so we did bring my younger daughter once and she had fun, but was done after just a couple hours. They have a really neat area where you can launch foam balls in the air that she got a kick out of. The water park is better suited for younger kids. Also, late at night the crowds their turn into quite a few groups of teenagers who sometimes look like they are up to no good.
My son (2) absolutely loves bugs bunny world and tommis the train section, he is in heaven but when you get to be a bit older the kiddy rides wont interest you but the Roller coaster may be too extreme. But the roller coasters are amazing and great. Between X2 and Tasusu and Goliath you usually find your favorite its amazing and wonderful. You would love it but I wouldn't say it was for all families types you have to either have young or those you LOVE your heart pounding outside your chest and your head spinning from all the loops.
For teenagers this park is awesome! I'm sure most teens that live nearby have a season pass. There are tons of roller coasters to go on, 2 water rides, a small kid area, and of course shows to watch. Just try not to go in the heat, with the long lines for the roller coasters. It's never too crowded, except for the "newest" roller coasters. Those usually have a 2 hr wait on most days. Fun way to spend the day with family, but if you have teens, be prepared to split up for a few hours at least. The teens will not want to wait around while the kids are in the kid area, and the kids will get bored in the long coaster lines. Worth the money though!
I had a blast at six flags, but then again, I LOVE roller coasters! Six flags does a really good job of creating newer and better coasters so the park doesn't get old. They have 10 rides especially for kids and a 10+ for the whole family. The park seems clean and fun.
Six Flags Magic Mountain has something for everyone and even families with small kids will find something to do, but if your kids are not 42 inches at least, they will miss out on some big water rides. The coasters at SFMM are amazing, if you plan to ride X2 arrive at opening and go straight there, otherwise the wait will be horrible. After X2 go to Tatsu then Terminator Salvation. Unless its a really busy day you should then be able to do the rest of the coasters in a leisurely basis.
Known worldwide as a thrill-ride haven, the 260-acre theme park features sixteenroller coasters—the most on the planet—more than one hundred rides, games, andattractions for the entire family. Enjoy such exciting thrill rides as SCREAM; X—the world’s first and only four-dimensional roller coaster; Deja vu—the world’s fastest and tallest suspended, looping boomerang coaster; Goliath—the coaster GIANT among GIANTS; the Riddler’s Revenge—the world’s tallest and fastest stand-up roller coaster; Superman the Escape—towering 415 feet in the air; Colossus; Batman the
Ride; Viper; and many more.
For younger guests there is Bugs Bunny World, featuring rides and attractions that provide real thrills for kids and adults alike; Golaith Junior coaster; and Canyon Blaster Coaster for kids and parents together.
In addition, meet your favorite Looney Tunes characters—Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, and Sylvester. All this in one day!
This park is not for the faint of heart. If you have older kids and teens who want to "go big or go home" this is the place to be. The rides will have even the bravest screaming in either delight or horror.
Lines are usually not too bad in the mid week even in the summer.
Down side is that Valencia where Magic Mountain is located is inland and gets VERY HOT in the summer months. In July and August it is not unusual to have the day time highs over 100 degrees.
There is a water park which is now part of the Magic Mountain experience (separeate charge but can be purchased as a combo ticket) which is a great place to cool off.
Other down side to Magic Mountain is that the park is definately geared for older teens and there is very little for young kids to do here.
My folks actually met while working here, and we would go quite frequently. It has changed so much in the years since we would go frequently, and now the target audience really is the teenaged thrill seekers. If you are going with a stroller, take a jogger, something lightweight and easy to push up and down the hills, as you will get a workout! The kids area is fine, but not worth going for its the only thing you can do. But if you love rollercoasters, you won't be disappointed.
The amusement park was fun, but not great with young kids. While there are kiddie rides, most of the park is dedicated to extreme thrill rides. In addition, there are similar parks in most metropolitan areas. I live near San Jose and would go to Great America rather than drive to Southern Cal for Magic Mountain.
