The pirate show outside the Treasure Island (re-branded as the TI) is not for younger viewers. The website itself states that parental guidance is suggested. This is Vegas, folks, and the show that unfolds is a strip-tease flaunt of numerous women (the Sirens) luring a ship full of pirates to their eventually doom using their sexuality as threats and weapons. Phew!!
The PROBLEM with the show is that it used to be a pretty family friendly show about pirates, so there are quite a few families (mine included!!) who have dragged their kiddos out into the crowds to watch a pirate show unfold, when what they got was something much more mature. Vegas has recently decided to do away with much of the family friendly atmosphere of the late 90s to bring back a more mature crowd. This show is no exception.
My family pushed & prodded our way through the mobs of people to get a good spot to watch the show. I put my 3-year-old up on my shoulders to see & we than began to watch a very dramatic story of seduction that really wasn't appropriate for my kiddos. The hillarious kicker was that in the middle of the show I remembered that I hadn't taken her potty in about 5 hours, and she proceeded to pee on my neck during the show :(
It was very unfortunate, but a very funny travel memory.
Bottom line: If you have older kids (or aren't worried about the impressions stripping women will leave on your smaller ones), head here. If not, well, I guess you should just probably avoid Vegas all together, really!! :)
