"Fun with the Family"
The Shasta-Trinity National Forest offers exceptional backpacking. The Pacific Crest Trail can be accessed west of Mount Shasta City at Parks Creek, South Fork Road and
Whalen Road, and at Castle Crags State Park.
Watch for signs to Bunny Flat and Sand Flat, marked cross-country trails for beginners and intermediates and maintained by the U.S. Forest Service. Restrooms and parking are available only at Bunny Flat, which is also a snow-play area.
