What's not to love about a farm? Shady Brook is a terrific place to go and share in the fun of the farm, without actually farming.
This 4th generation farm offers a great opportunity to enjoy seasonal celebrations, tours (especially great for groups), shop the market, pick fresh in-season produce, hop on a hayride, and so much more. Call or visit their website for specific scheduled events, or just stop by for a visit and for details on upcoming festivities. Great family outing, and if you're staying in the area to visit Sesame Place (which is very close by), it's a nice low-key way to spend a free day. They offer terrific family-friendly events at Easter, Halloween and during the holidays, so check for details on those. And if you like to pick-your-own fruit, they offer strawberries, raspberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins so check out seasonal times to go with the family. If your kids are like mine, they love berry picking! And what a great way to remind them where our food comes from.
The cost to go to Shady Brook Farm depends on what you'll be doing there, but most things are affordable. All in all, Shady Brook Farm is a lovely place to spend some time with the family, see animals, pick up local produce, and enjoy a simplified, fun-filled afternoon. Have fun!
