Sequoia Zoo used to be free... it's not longer free but it's still a good deal. The bear looks a bit sad, but the monkeys are very cool. There's a neat petting zoo area as well. The park itself is not bad, and you can take a neat drive down through the Redwoods and see some beautiful forest sites.
The Sequoia Park & Zoo have a lot of fun to offer! The park is great for young kids to climb on the playground and includes a picnic area for teens and adults. Head on over to the zoo for some animal action. There is even a petting zoo! The landscaping always looks nice and the entire facility is very clean. It was remodeled not too long ago and is just beautiful. The restaurant has delicious food at great prices. Don't miss the gift shop for awesome souvenirs and much more. You could easily spend a few hours here.
I would reccomend for everyone to take their kids at least once in their life to the Sequoia Park and Zoo. It is an amazing place where kids and adults alike can see, hear and experience nature at its finest!!! The cost can be a little pricey, especially when you have a big family ( we have 3 kids) but it is money well spent!
This place is wonderful, especially for the price. The zoo is very basic, as some people have said, but good for the price and an easy stroll. The parks is absolutely the best! The small drive into the canyon is nice and there are plenty of play areas at the top and down the road. There are nice trails as well, and a lake to feed some ducks for fun time with the kids.
Sequoia Zoo was more than we expected. The exhibits were clean, enjoyable and entertaining. Our six year old enjoyed the petting zoo, grandpa enjoyed the loud squaking gibbons and mom loved the relaxing environment. We may even return some day to see the new red panda exhibit.
The Sequoia Park zoo is very nice and inexpensive, but if you've been to a big-city zoo, you won't be turning cartwheels. But the play area next to the zoo might be the best I've ever seen for little kids. There's a group of slides that are literally carved into a circle of redwoods! And just next to the playground is a small stand of virgin redwood forest that you can go for a walk in. Kids may pretend it's an enchanted forest--and actually, adults might believe it, too.
Fifty-two delightfully green acres of virgin redwoods are home to a little zoo, a play-ground, formal gardens, walking paths, and a duck pond. New interactive displays in the Secrets of the Garden exhibit, and the Wells Fargo Kids Koop and barnyard is where kids can milk a goat and drive a tractor. The zoo's most famous resident, Bill the chimpanzee, is one of the oldest chimps in an American zoo and an artist; see his works in the gift shop.
