"Sedgwick County Zoo"
I have been going there since I was a kid. Each time that I go it gets better and better. They have the newer African exhibit with meerkats, lions, and wart hogs. They kids loved it because it reminded the of the Lion King movie, and they could relate to the different animals. The gorilla exhibit is amazing, but my favorite will always be the Rainforest. It has one of kind birds and animals and a great scenic layout.

"Great Zoo!"
This zoo is the perfect size and lay out. The animal enclosures allow you to get perfect views of all the animals instead of like some other zoos where you can't see the animal at all or they are way off in the distance.
The penguin enclosure was amazing! Our son's favorite was the hippo enclosure (you could watch them from above when they were on land or floating or go below and watch them dive and swim in the water).
You can feed the giraffes for a very small extra fee, which was very cool too.
There is a playground, a cafe, and plenty of bathrooms.
This zoo is the perfect size for children (preschoolers won't get worn out) and so much variety that older kids will stay captivated.
Check the schedule when you arrive if you are interested in feeding times, especially in the snake and reptile area.
We had a great time and plan to go again sometime this summer.

"Love it"
We love this zoo. We have been there twice.and will definately return! Such a nice compact zoo that has SO much to see and do. The orangatan is always the favorite of our family but we enjoy all the animals and attractions. We love how they designed the loin viewing area so that you can get pics of the kids with the lions up close. Definately a day long outing!

"Penguins, Gorillas, and Giraffes, OH MY!"
The Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, KS makes a great outing for families. The gorilla exhibit really lets you get up close and personal with these amazing animals while staying in the comfort of an air-conditioned building! Outdoors you'll hear the lion roaring atop his "pride rock" clear across the zoo! Get closer to see the king of beasts and perhaps a cub or two. The zoo has designed the lion exhibit with cool rocks for the lions that are very close to the viewing areas so that you are almost guaranteed to see a lion at close range. Let the kids get their wiggles out at the fabulous playground, or take a load off and hop the zoo train for a narrated tour of the zoos main exhibits. Hungry? Bring along your own picnic lunch or Mickey D's, stop at one of the many snack shops, or have a seat at the zoo's restaurant, The Beastro! A petting zoo, feeding giraffes (for a small additional fee), and much more, make this such a great adventure for everyone!
