Delightful assortment of children's plays. Must go to website to check out the upcoming show!
My family has had the opportunity to attend a number of shows at SCT over the past year, and we've enjoyed all of them. SCT offers a nice variety of performances for kids ranging from preschool age up to teen years. Since my kids are small, we've attended the shows aimed toward the younger crowd, but my husband and I have always enjoyed ourselves as much as the kids do. The performers at SCT really seem to love what they do and we've always come away from the performances with a sense that we saw a good piece of art.
I do agree with other reviews noting that tickets are rather expensive for SCT. Despite living nearby, my family had not attended any shows until I got complimentary tickets, thanks to my review blog. However, having attended several performances and seen how much my kids enjoyed the shows, I would definitely be willing to purchase tickets to shows in the future.
SCT also offers classes and summer camps for kids, so if you have a budding thespian in your home, check out all they have to offer!
I see a blue sheep, a red sheep, a swing sheep and slide sheep. An up and down and all around sheep. All kinds of sheep having all kinds of fun. But where is the green sheep?
You and your toddlers will be delighted and captivated as you sit in the sheep pen and join in the search for the elusive green sheep. There will be music, puppets, and loads of laughter while we explore the early learning concepts of size, color, and distance.
We really enjoyed this performance! It kept my daughter's attention, who doesn't sit still for anything else. Unfortunately, there are rarely shows for toddlers here. Most shows are for elementary age and up. This is the only reason I gave it a lower rating.
The SCT deserves a full 5 stars for the wonderful, imaginative and high-quality shows that they produce. Over the years we have seen over a dozen shows. Every season they have one production that is aimed for the preschool and under crowd. This season that show was "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie." My 3.5-year old daughter loved it! My only complaint is the price. I realize the arts are suffering in this economy but I feel as though the high price of the tickets is prohibitive for most families. $34 for an adult and $28 for a child is a lot of money to spend for a little over an hour of entertainment. BUT, we will continue to go and support this fabulous theater.
