Located in the northern part of the valley in an areaknown as Grapevine Canyon, this Spanish Moorish– style mansion was the creation of Walter Scott (and some of his desert friends), who built his home in the 1920s at the cost of $200 milion. The building took ten years to coplete, but you can see it inside and out in considerably less time. Save your visit here for the second day of your Death Valley tour. Near the castle is the Ubehebe Crater and the Sahara-scale sand dunes.
