"First trip to the Science Museum."

Took my four year old daughter to the Science Museum today for the first time and we had a great time they have three levels and so many exhibits like the fear exhibits, beach human body and so many more.  She was able to see and touch a real sneak and see dinosaur fossils.  She was scared of a few of the exhibits which I didn't expect but overall she was very interested in learning something new. When she got home she told her dad all about her trip which means she really enjoyed herself.

I use a coupon from the entertainment book to get a 2-for-1 Discount
FREE EXHIBIT ADMISSION.

Re-Review

We went to the Science Museum of Virginia again today and we did so much more than the first time.  Since the exhibits change every two to three months we no longer was able to do the fear exhibits but this time it was the arctic exhibits which the two four year old that was with me wasn't interested in so we moved to some of the labs which wasn't open the first time we went know the first lab which was lab 3 was awesome. They go a change to look at multiple bug under a microscope which my nephew loved he keep picking the bugs up with his hands.  My daughter enjoy it also she just wasn't hand friendly. We also was able to eat inside the cafe at the museum they had basic kid friendly food (hotdogs, pizza, grilled cheese).  This was a very good trip for us. We will go back.

"Just the IMAX is Worth it, but There's A TON More!"

Next door to the original Children's Museum of Virginia is the Science Museum of Virginia.  I remember when it was still a train station!  I remember my mom holding my hand as we waved goodbye to Dad as he was boarding a train bound for North Carolina.  The next time I was in there was over a decade later watching as a pendulum-driven canvas I'd set in motion made an amazing design on poster-sized paper (Dad still has it).  Last year I took my daughter there in a field trip and she got to experience what enthralled me as a kid.  I can't recommend this place highly enough!  From the rotation globe outside the main entrance to the glass elevators, to the IMAX dome, the Science Museum of Virginia is an experience you and your family will remember for years, and will want to repeat the next day!

"Fun with the Family"

This is a must for kids. Children are intrigued by the hundreds of permanent and loaned interactive exhibits. Hundreds of exhibits enable kids to bounce as though they are on the moon, test air-pressured hover craft chairs, or explore life science with a five-story DNA strand, a body probe that illuminates the human form, or reel in a giant smallmouth bass. Throughout the year special events such as the Model Rairoad Show take place here. Science Saturdays feature hands-on activities in a noon to 4:00 p.m. session. The Science Museum also houses the Ethyl IMAX Dome and Planetarium. IMAX films and multimedia planetarium shows are presented in the five-sotry theater with a tilted-dome screen. Illuminating live theater makes the science even more accessible.
