"Fun with the Family"

The best way to explore Gasparilla Island is by bike. A 7-mile bike path follows the trail of the old railroad that once shipped phosphate from inland Florida to Boca Grande’s deep port. Don’t miss riding under the tree canopy on Banyan Street. Have a gape at the gracious Gasparilla Inn on Fifth and Palm Streets, where the Vanderbilts and their ilk have come to winter since the 1910s. Keep a watchful eye out for igunas, a colony of which lives on the island. Motorized golf carts are also allowed on the path.
