Our little boys (3,5) trekked all over this botanical garden with us because there was always a new path to explore, a corner to turn or a tree to gaze up at in amazement. We adults were amazed with the variety of plants and the beauty that was around us. When we went, there was a large 2 story twig structure to explore that was created by a local artist. I'm sure it's not there now, but this garden plays hosts to many local events and arts so there may be something new to explore!
We spent a good portion of our day here and enjoyed it very much.
The Santa Barbara Botanical Garden is beautiful and set among the hills in Santa Barbara and the coastal mountain range. It has many, many different plants and trees. Other than a pretty scene though it doesn't offer too much for little kids however garden enthusiasts will be amused. :)
Kids will love exploring the miles of trails through forests and plant life on seventy-eight exquisite acres devoted only to California species. Self-guided and guided tours available.
