San Lorenzo River

The San Lorenzo River is a class III river and is popular for kayaking as well as swimming. The kayaking is best only attempted with teens, but if you're looking for a swimming hole, head to the area near Felton.  There are many to choose from.  A highly popular and crowded swimming hole is a short hike towards the Garden of Eden just south of Henry Cowell State Park via the Ox Trail (0.7miles) Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park). A quiet spot is right off the first spur trail off of Ox Trail, after crossing the railroad tracks. You'll find wide sandy beaches.
