Located in Balboa Park.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
This museum isn't big but they fit a lot into the space they have. One of my favorite items they have are the actual metals of the Red Baron! There are lots of airplanes to look at and a lot to read if you like history. However, this isn't a place for toddlers that like to run around.
This is a great museum if your kids enjoy air and space. They have everything from the beginning of flight to walking on the moon with an actual space shuttle. They also have a flight simulator where you can actually simulate flying and landing a plane. My kids loved this, and it was only a few buck for the ticket. Also, the museum is located in Balboa Park which is absolutely beautiful! If you are a San Diego resident, you can get into the museum for FREE on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Can't beat that!!!
Check out the replica of Lindbergh’s Spirit of St. Louis and an A-12 Blackbird. The hall of fame honors heroes of aviation and space flight.
When my daughter was two years old she oved it and we loved it too! Great for family. They have a virtual section and hands on activites section. This is located around gas lamp and near other museums so its is easy to visit and scope other museums in a day. Check and see photos.
