If you are interested in activities of the equestrian variety, look no further than Saddle Up Stables, which is located minutes from Lake George Village. The stables offer trail rides for ages six and up, as well as pony rides for all ages. Our daughter, age four, had a wonderful pony ride, and we can’t wait to go back when she’s six so we can enjoy a trail ride on a trail that overlooks Lake George as well as spectacular views of the Adirondack Mountains.
For the ride, a pony was carefully chosen for our child based on her height and a young man led the pony along a straight path in front of the trail-rider’s waiting area, back and forth three times. The ride lasted at least ten minutes and our daughter had a blast.
The facility has plenty of parking and also offers a small souvenir stand. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and I noticed them having no problem using guest’s cameras to take photos of them while on the horses, which I thought was great.
